Abstract :
A multilayered, vehicle mounted microstrip phased array has been designed to provide an elevation angle coverage from 16° to 69° above horizon with the help of multiple beams. The requirement is for a low cost, low profile array with side lobe levels required to give a minimum gain to noise temperature ratio of -12 dBK at the antenna port of a diplexer and an equivalent isotropically radiated power (EIRP) of 25 dBW. The array was to provide an impedance bandwidth of 8.5% to encompass frequencies from 1525 MHz to 1660.5 MHz
