Abstract
The authors investigate the effects of spatial resolution and relative orientation of detectors on the accuracy of the directional localization in two-detector Compton cameras. They derive a general expression that relates the angular uncertainty to spatial resolution and geometry. Appropriate expressions for specific configurations are obtained as special cases of the general expression. Finally, the authors present a simple formula for estimating the position uncertainty of Compton cameras in terms of relative spatial resolution and distances
