Abstract :
In this work a novel and customized capacitive sensor for safety applications is described. The device reveals the closeness of a dangerous object, in general a hand tool such as a chainsaw, to the operator body. The operator has to dress a garment with a wire cloth inserted, connected to a radio-frequency generator. The hand tool is provided with an electronic circuit which detects the radio frequency, and turn off the power in the case of proximity to the wire cloth.
