Abstract :
The authors consider the multiple-access capability of frequency-hopping (FH) unslotted ALOHA type packet communication systems in an asynchronous channel and general fast Rayleigh fading environment. The topology is a fully connected network with identical message generation processes, and the energies of the different packages in different symbol slots are dependent and identically distributed random variables. An energy additive model is considered, and the performance analysis of the system is based on the moment generation function of the total received interfering energy generated by the random multiple access protocol. Using this new general description method, closed-forms are given for packet capture probabilities in the case of nonspread and FH systems with random and deterministic FH patterns in slotted and unslotted, synchronous and asynchronous channels using error correcting codes
