Abstract :
In the XTP, the receiver responds with a CNTL PDU containing ALLOC, RATE, and BURST to update state variables for flow and rate control at the sender. The authors propose an algorithm to determine values of ALLOC, RATE, and BURST based on the status of the buffer at the receiver and evaluate the performance of this algorithm via simulation. They also propose four policies for determining by whom and when the CNTL PDU will be requested, and the performances of these policies are compared
