Abstract
This paper describes work performed within the real-time systems group at the University of York on flexible scheduling strategies for safety critical hybrid control systems. The group has had success introducing fixed priority scheduling into aircraft engine controllers. The paper describes the requirements for hybrid controllers and then relate that to how scheduling theory may be used to meet them
