Abstract :
Quantum dots are tiny light-emitting particles on the nanometer scale. They are emerging as a new generation of luminescent optical sensors. Their significance is based on their excellent chemical and optical properties. In this article, we study the dynamic response of CdSe quantum dots and how this response is affected by cyanide. The measured system consists of a nitrogen pulsed laser used as an excitation source. The experimental results establish the optimal condition for making measurements, improving the sensor knowledge and capability. This leads to cyanide detection limits of ultra-traces. The final aim is to improve the performances of those sensors by the point of view of the electronic instrumentation. The practical problems obtained are also remarked on.
