Abstract
The fibre-optic Sagnac interferometer application for a direct measurement of ground rotation component is presented in this paper. It is a new rotational seismometer which parameters are compared with classical mechanical one. On this base the experimental data obtained during simultaneously application above two kinds of sensors are also presented. It is directly shown that rotational components, so-called rotational seismic waves, exist in separation to classical seismic waves generated during earthquakes.
