Customer and supplier partnership in the application of root cause analysis for switching systems

An application of the root cause analysis methodology for improving the SW quality of switching systems is described. The application is aimed at reduction of the errors, increasing prevention activities, increasing the detected errors, and improving the effectiveness of appraisal phases. The inputs of this analysis are the trouble reports related to failures detected in the field. In this application, the operating company and the vendors cooperate in order to improve the switching systems acquisition process and to obtain better quality products
