This paper investigates the use of currently available EUTELSAT satellite transmission systems as an immediate solution for the deployment of early ATM services. It describes the results of tests and trials of ATM transmissions on EUTELSAT satellites for purposes of validating the quality of satellite channels carrying ATM traffic
