Abstract :
This paper deals with an algorithm of the Satellite Terminal, more precisely, it contributes to the Quality of Service management of the return link, a central problem in satellite network (compared to wire network) due to the satellite delay and the scare uplink resources. Instead of oversizing the connection, which could be very expensive, we aim at reaching an optimal exploitation of uplink resources. In order to solve this problem, we design a congestion control mechanism (an Active Queue Management). This mechanism is equivalent to a controller designed by using the Automatic methods. This article treats two different Active Queue Management strategies, a robust proportional integral and a robust deadtime based controllers. These mechanisms are applied to an existing model of the Transmission Control Protocol for wire network that we adapt to the satellite network. The different methods are simulated on Network Simulator and compared to the DropTail mechanism.
