The research of distributive object programming environment

Object oriented software development environments are an important aspect of object oriented technology. This paper presents the distributed object programming environment, DOPE. DOPE is physically distributed but forms a logical whole. Our aim is for developers to cooperate with each other to develop a whole system (or subsystem) in a network environment such as the Internet or an intranet. This paper discusses the structure of DOPE, its functions and features, and the relationship it has to other environments. The paper indicates some theoretical and technical implementation problems for further research
