Abstract :
This paper presents the design for 60kW interior permanent magnet motor (IPM) with a high power to weight ratio of 5.9kW/kg. The IPM integrated two sets of 4kW three-phase generator windings. The three-phase alternating voltage is induced by generator windings when the motor running. This voltage is transformed to DC side, and the direct voltage obtained has a specific value when the motor running at certain speed range. The DC-DC usually supplies the power to the DC electric equipment in electric power system. This design omits the DC-DC converter step, so avoids the heavy weight and large volume because of the high transformation ratio of DC-DC. Also this design reduces the whole weight and volume of system effectively. Finite element analysis (FEA) results show that the designs fulfill the requirements.
