Abstract :
Computer aided design of the new crossing current resonant power converter (XCRC) is introduced. The XCRC enables zero voltage switching without excessive voltage and current stresses. This makes the power converter operate with minimum dissipation. A systematic method of computer aided design of the XCRC is also introduced. A spreadsheet program incorporates circuit equations for calculation of component values. These values are then used for circuit simulation which further probes into the waveforms before the hardware is actually built. Finally the circuit is built and experimental results are included
