Abstract
In this paper we present a state of the art 25-40 GHz sub-harmonically pumped mixer with an input IP3 of 20 to 24 dBm. The mixer is double balanced which is the first such topology to be reported in this frequency band. Due to the use of lumped element matching techniques, the mixer occupies only 0.7 mm/sup 2/ of GaAs area. This mixer is therefore not only the smallest reported MMIC mixer in this band by a factor of 3-10 but also has an input IP3 that is 15 dB higher than any previously reported design.
