  • Abstract
    Isolated variants of the boost converter topology for single phase power factor correction are introduced allowing one-stage conversion with a simple control and gating scheme. Compared with two-stage conversion with boost preregulators and cascaded inverters a higher efficiency is obtained. The circuit is investigated on different levels of approximation, additional measures for soft switching are introduced and experimental data for a 1.5 kW converter is given
