Abstract
This paper describes a new active power factor correction method based on power convertor predictive control. The predictive control method generates a switching pattern with constant switching frequency and very little distortion in the input current waveform. The design of the predictive current controller is very simple without involving any current loop compensator. The design equations and dynamic characteristics are developed for a single-phase boost power converter configuration
