            Abstract :
A new contactless method desirable of coil telescopic control for metal strips being wound based on using frequency controlled linear induction motors is proposed. The structure and mathematical model of the control system are presented and an optimal discrete control low is designed. Investigations of dynamic behavior of the developed system were made showing that telescopic action may be reduced at least to a value not more than the thickness of a strip with good control performance
