Abstract :
This paper describes the surge impedance of concrete pole based on the electromagnetic field, including the effect of electrical properties of concrete. This parameter has not been studied in previous lightning surge analysis. A new formula for calculating the surge impedance including the effect of electrical properties of concrete is proposed. The result show that surge impedance of concrete pole depends on the relative dielectric constant and electrical conductivity of concrete. Finally, the pole surge impedance was calculated by a propose formula agree very well with the result of the other measured value.
