Abstract :
In this paper, we present the concept HYWIKIM, which is an offshore floating device incorporating wind and marine current turbines for the renewable energy generation with the aim of exploiting the environmental resources in an integrated manner. Benefits of integration raise if considering the possibility of optimizing the economic conditions of viability, and suggests possible control alternatives for operation in adverse conditions. In this sense, control problems that arise when studying the stability of a 6DOF flotation complex system are also introduced. The HYWIKIM device will be used also as an observation system in order to search flow of wind and marine currents resources. The software tool for its hydrostatic design and some results are also presented.
