Abstract :
A 2D mathematical model of a new sensor configuration in electrical impedance tomography (EIT) system is developed. The model is established with consideration for the reformation of the interested region caused by the placement of the arc-shaped electrodes. The concept of the ´virtual´ point electrode is introduced. The model is suitable for two-port measurement in an EIT system. Experimental data with disposable ECG electrodes placed on human right calf and right forearm are collected using a precision impedance analyzer at multi-frequencies over the range from 10 kHz to 2 MHz. Images are constructed to illustrate the effectiveness of the model using Tikhonov regularization methods incorporating pixel averaging strategy.
