Abstract :
Electrolytic capacitors are very important element of any static converters. It is responsible for frequent breakdowns of many static converters and drive systems. To set a predictive maintenance, adaptive filter modeling based method is presented. Signature of changes in capacitance and ESR will reflect in capacitor ripple voltage because of aging; and these changes are monitored using this adaptive filter modeling to predict the future status of the capacitor using only the input current of the system
