  • Abstract
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has made a commitment to the educational community in the United States by funding an outreach program which focuses on grades K-12. Astronaut photography of the Earth, which has been acquired for the research community, has a natural synergism for the educational community as well. Photographs of the Earth from space are a versatile educational resource because of their (1) global perspective, (2) variance in scale, and (3) data record over time. Information about the Earth is taken directly to the educators through workshops and national meetings for the various disciplines. Products are developed which can be incorporated directly into the school curriculum
