Abstract
Resolver, an absolute position sensor, is commonly used in the severe environment because of its robust structure of rotating transformer. In this paper, a resolver algorithm mainly developed in the controller is proposed. The rotor speed and position are calculated from the sine and cosine resolver signals. The vector controlled drive of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) using resolver is focused. The experiments will be carried out to substantiate the proposed technique in the speed controlled drive system of PMSM. The algorithms are practically implemented in a fixed-point digital signal processor based controller (TMS320F2812 eZdsp board).
