Abstract
As an increasing important kind of information, Remote-sensing Data (RD) is playing a more and more significant role in the information age. In this paper, based on some analysis on those mature commercial products of RD management, we propose an integration method by distilling strong points from products of different approaches such as Georaster and ArcSDE. Our method supports multi-formats of RD and takes both advantages of RDMS and Distributed File System (DFS). Facing the worldwide economic crisis, the cost of the implementation of our method has been decreased sharply by adopting the open source works instead of commercial products. In the experiments, we design a prototype system to prove the feasibility of our proposition. Furthermore, we think our method could be improved for mass RD management in the future.
