Abstract :
The energy and exergy analysis for 300 MW thermal system of Xiaolongtan power plant has been presented in this paper. The primary objectives are to find the system components separately and to identify and quantify the sites having largest energy and exergy losses. The results showed that 51.57% energy loss mainly occurs in the condenser, while 6.64% energy loss comes from the boiler. The maximum percentage ratio of the exergy destruction to the total exergy destruction in the boiler reaches 67.78 %, the second occurs in the turbine about 18.54 %, and then the condenser about 13 %. The thermal efficiency of the power cycle is 37.99%, while the exergy efficiency is 51.88%. Combustion process and heat transfer between large differences are the most significant sources of exergy destruction in the boiler of the power plant. Although the exergy destruction and the exergy efficiency of each component in the system is alterable under the different working conditions, the total exergy efficiency for overall system is stayed the same with different temperature under the certain working condition.
