Abstract
Parametric variation of induction motor for electric vehicles will result in fluctuation of motor current and torque. A new field-oriented vector control method applying slip-frequency control is proposed, which employs the three-phase induction motor model including differential operation. Theoretical derivation and experimental results are given in this paper. Applying this method can eliminate motor speed oscillation generated by severe parametric variation, and make motor run reliably in the field weakening range. The control scheme is completely adapted to meet the requirements of a high power and high-speed electric vehicle. The proposed method has been verified experimentally and proved to have good performance.
