Abstract :
In this paper, we describe the design of an image sensor based on spiking pixel architecture (SPA). A feedback reference excitation scheme, that is proven useful for image segmentation, is then proposed and simulated. The proposed scheme relies on local interaction between pixels, making it suitable for VLSI implementation. A mismatch analysis is also carried out in an attempt to evaluate the effect of reference voltage on the synchronization ability across the array. The use of bandgap reference voltage is proposed in order to reduce the effect of the reference voltage mismatch on the synchronization ability of neighboring pixels. A test array has been realized in order to test the proposed concepts.
