Abstract :
In this paper, according to the operational principle of SVPWM, a novel over-modulation technique is proposed. By means of graphical analysis and Fourier decomposition, the accurate relationship between modulation index(MI) and auxiliary parameter mref is derived respectively under two over-modulation area. With this unified auxiliary parameter, the output voltage of three phases could increase continuously up to that of six-step operation. In addition, the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the output voltage using the novel over-modulation technique proposed is analyzed. An experiment setup is presented at the end of this paper, which proves the over-modulation technique proposed to be realizable.
