Abstract :
Experiments on grazing angle, polarization and wind-direction dependent microwave backscatter from ocean surfaces are reviewed. A direct proof that non-Bragg and fast scatterers are also required to account for microwave returns has been made through a quantitative identification of the different types of scattering mechanisms
