Abstract :
We have developed a prototype of new ocean bottom seismometer (OBS) for 3D seismic observation. This paper presents our design goal and general description of the prototype. Conventional OBSs are not operative enough for large operation and may have some compromises on mechanical transmission response. The new OBS is designed to achieve compactness, user-friendliness, and data integrity of short-period seismic wave, which is suitable for recent marine seismology.
