Abstract
Virtualization has seen a lot of adoption, as it allows better usage of the data center resources. Although we have virtualized systems, we need a better means to visualize the virtualized services on the system and underlying physical and logical dependencies. In the absence of such visualization tools it is clear that the total cost of ownership is expected to be higher because of the time it would take to troubleshoot a problem and analyze impacts of failures. Unfortunately, today there is no standard way to obtain information about these relationships. Entity MIB(RFC-2737) is a standard SNMP MIB that is well understood and is supported by most devices. In this paper, a methodology is proposed, to use Entity MLB to provide information about the virtualized entities.
