Abstract :
A theoretical and experimental study of using direct modulated optical transmitters in radio over fiber applications is presented. State-of-the-art Fabry-Perot, DFB and VCSEL lasers are evaluated and compared in short-range multi-carrier transmission by detailed nonlinear characterization.
