Abstract :
In this paper, a fuzzy adaptive model reference temperature control is proposed for an oil cooler of tool machines for achieving nice set-point tracking and disturbance rejection performance. First, a simple PID controller based on the Ziegler-Nichol method is adopted as a basic controller. Next, in order to deal with the nonlinear time varying characteristic of the plant, a first order time delayed model is then chosen as a reference model to generate an extra control to reduce the temperature deviation. Third, a fuzzy controller is augmented as an auxiliary control to take care of the parameter changes and load disturbances. Finally, some simulation and experimental results are also given for demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed control.
