Abstract :
We investigate the spatial correlation characteristics of uniform concentric ring arrays (UCRAs) deployed in antenna systems. The spatial correlation functions are derived for UCRAs with two different geometric structures and two common types of angular energy distributions, i.e., the uniform distribution and truncated Gaussian distribution. It is found that the spatial correlation is a function of antenna sensor spacing, the geometric structure of a UCRA, and the angular energy distribution. Simulation results are given for illustration and comparison.
