Abstract :
To get reasonable and reliable index of performance of combined cooling, heating and power (CCHP) system, a new performance evaluation method of the system, the comprehensive efficiency, is proposed. The method is based on energy, exergy and energy analyses. An example is given to illustrate application of the new method in this study. The analysis results show that the comprehensive efficiency is generally found to be more meaningful and indicative of system behaviour than the energy efficiency and exergy efficiency respectively. It reveals not only the energy grade difference amount energy products of CCHP system, but also quantizes the energy´s contribution to cooling and heating by equivalent available coefficient of anergy. It is anticipated that the results will provide a convenient and practical tool for engineers and researchers dealing with the analysis, design, operation, optimization and improvement of trigeneration systems.
