Abstract :
To obtain the lower profile antenna in the L-band frequency, some characteristics of a planar comb-shaped monopole antenna have been discussed in this paper. The relationship between the vertical length of the printed trace and the electrical parameters of the comb-shaped antenna is studied. Changing the vertical length of the printed trace, different values of the substrate dielectric constant, the width, and thickness of the slab, we examine these influences on both resonant frequency and input impedance. Empirical design equations for the resonant frequencies and impedance of the comb-shaped antenna are provided.
