Abstract
Visual information system contains a large number of non-alphanumeric information, which is radical departure from the largely text-based example of conventional information systems. For the effective work of information systems, data retrieval and management mechanisms play a key role, as well as a key requirement, such a system is able to search and find information on the efficiency of the approach. However, for visual information systems, in which most of the data and the relationship is the non-alphanumeric, finding the right information brings new challenges. In particular, the database storage structure of the visual information significantly is different from the traditional information systems. Here, the major functions and components of the database management for visual information system are introduced.
