Abstract :
Summary form only given. We present the results on spectroscopic and laser investigation of alkali earth tungstates a perspective class of Raman materials. Our recent investigation of their spontaneous Raman spectra showed that several new molybdate and tungstate Raman crystals, including BaWO/sub 4/, are suitable for efficient SRS. They possess high peak and integral Raman scattering cross section and can be used for nano- and picosecond pumping.
