  • Abstract
The statistical grading scale based on transformed score provides a meaningful comparison of students´ performance in both classroom evaluation and national scholastic tests. The effective use of transformed score depends on the linear transformation applied to the standard score. The authors consider how to obtain a linear transformation which will give a better distribution of grades, a wider range between each letter grade, and better psychological satisfaction. The application of this new transformation to various classes shows that this is a viable approach
