Abstract :
A novel circular-fan-shaped ultra wideband (UWB) printed planar antenna with triple band-notched characteristics is proposed and discussed in detail. The realization of the proposed antenna´s triple band-notched characteristics is owed to slots on the ground plane and the radiating patch. By employing a curve-shaped defected ground structure (DGS) on the ground plane, a notched band of 8.0-8.4 GHz is achieved. By embedding a curve-shaped slot and playground-shaped slot on the radiating patch, we get another two notched bands: 3.3-3.6 GHz and 5.1-5.8 GHz. The proposed antenna has been successfully simulated, fabricated, and measured. Moreover, the antenna has a small size, which is benefit for UWB communication system.
