Abstract
It is pointed out that the advanced student needs a teaching tool that permits him/her to get to the heart of new material quickly. Further, this tool must simultaneously provide the slower or less-informed student with a reasonable way to get more help. The author describes the problem, a teaching tool that will help solve the problem, and an example of its use in teaching an EET circuit course. The particular system used to create the hypertext document for the research project was HyperWriter. The project accomplished using the HyperWriter software was the reduction of three chapters of the textbook Introductory Circuit Analysis by R. Boylestad
