  • Abstract
    The key features of the regenerative combustion technology were introduced and its application in the reheating furnace of Rail & Beam plant of PISCO (Panzhihua Iron & Steel Co.) was discussed. Compared with the traditional combustion technology, the reheating furnace equipment with this technology has the following strong points, such as energy saving, less oxidation and uniform bloom temperature. Specific fuel consumption is decreased from 1.79 GJ to 1.20 GJ per ton of crude steel, metal loss due to oxidation is significantly reduced from 1.65% to 1.12%, and the fluctuation of heating temperature along the length of bloom is lowered from ±53 °C to ±33 °C.
