Abstract :
Summary form only given. Significant effort has been devoted to investigate organic second-order optical materials with potential applications in frequency conversion and electro-optic modulation. Among these materials, 3-methyl-4-methoxy-4´-nitrostilbene (MMONS) possesses one of the largest d-coefficients with a reasonably broad transparency window. We report the growth of single-crystal thin-films of MMONS, polarization dependent UV-visible absorption, second-harmonic generation, and electro-optic measurements of these films.
