Abstract :
Based on one-dimensional, unsteady flow and non uniform sediment mathematical model, through analyzing the change of the deposition developing process and deposition amount of the Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) that is caused by advancing the impounding time after flood period, a conclusion is made that the reasonable advancing the impounding time after flood period will accelerate the deposition developing process of the Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR), and advancing the impounding time more, the deposition develop faster. However, advancing the impounding time after flood period will not change the final silt-stable state, the Sediment deposition volume and distribution is similar. It indicates that reasonable advancing the impounding time after flood period is acceptable.
