Abstract :
The spectrum monitoring has gained new aspects with the development of cognitive radio and dynamic spectrum access technology. It is also one of the most challenging issues in spectrum management. In this paper, a spectrum monitoring technique using software defined radio is proposed. A prototype setup based on USRP2 with WBX and MATLAB/Simulink is designed and implemented. The spectrum of 50-2200 MHz band was measured. The results show that the prototype setup is capable of detecting the main radio signals within these bands, and spectrum in FM frequency band, digital TV band, GSM and 3G band can be observed.
