Abstract :
Speech recognition (SR) technology is an interface technology that makes it possible for a computer user to use speech as an input such as issuing commands and instructions to a computer using spoken words instead of a keyboard, mouse, or other interface device. Speech recognition is possible because of advancements in digital signal processing, computer programming, and psycholinguistics. SR depends on the fact that speech utterances have distinct and characteristic acoustic properties associated with them. Contemporary SR devices, when programmed properly by experts who recognize the appropriate constraints, can be successfully employed in interesting ways
