Abstract
An object-oriented approach towards computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM) systems analysis is proposed in this paper. The approach proposed emphasizes the model reusability. Analysis models of CIM systems are built from reusable models of components and subsystems which may reside in the model base. The object modeling technique (OMT) methodology proposed by Rumbaugh et al. is employed as a foundation for developing the object-oriented CIM models. The suggested approach is demonstrated to achieve a higher degree of model reusability and coherence
