Abstract :
We have been fabricating highly transparent ceramic laser materials. Yb-doped Y3Al5O12and rare-earth sesquioxide ceramics were developed as laser media. A tunable laser pumped with a 976-nm laser diode was demonstrated with the Yb:Y2O3ceramics.
