Abstract :
The author describes the development of a course at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology that integrates software engineering and software documentation. A brief evaluation is followed by a discussion of future plans. It is pointed out that the most significant benefit of the combined course is the improved software engineering abilities of the students. The students see the importance of presentation and writing skills in the software development process. They apply these skills in ways that improve their ability to develop large software systems
